The plant is located in the planning area of Ningdong Coal Power Base in Lingwu City under the jurisdiction of Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is an economical, environmentally friendly, and sustainable large-scale modern power plant. The first phase of the project is to construct 2×300MW subcritical, air-cooled, circulating fluidized bed, and pure condensing units, and reserve a site for further expansion. The investment is about 3 billion yuan. The construction is planned to start in March 2008 and both units will be put into operation in 2010. Power generation, the annual power supply is about 3.3 billion kWh, and the economic benefits are considerable after it is put into production.

Ningdong Gangue Power Plant is in urgent need of excellent undergraduate and junior college graduates majoring in thermal power engineering, applied chemistry, power systems and automation, thermal control, and centralized control operation of thermal power plants.
